Ancient goldsmiths often favored carnelian. You’ll frequently see it set alongside turquoise and lapis lazuli. Egyptian Pharaohs revered carnelian and believed it brought them protection. This square cut carnelian cabochon has been set in a pure 22k gold bezel on a pure .999 silver back sheet. Hand-rolled pure silver band is 2x2mm square with a brushed finish, giving a contemporary twist to an ancient stone. Stone measures 5 x 5 mm.
