Falling Leaf Stacking Rings II - set of three
In this new version, tiny 22k gold leaves and a frame around the diamond are created using the ancient art of granulation and fusing. Each leaf has been shaped in gold wire and placed on a gold sheet. Once formed, the leaf is set on a 2 x 2 mm hand rolled .999 fine silver band. Nestled between the leaves is a small (.04 pt.) white diamond set in a 22k gold bezel.
Granulation takes years of practice using the purest of metals. Each wire of the leaf is set on a pure 22k back sheet. The piece is then heated almost to the melting point. At that precise moment, the wires fuse and become all one piece.
