22k Roman Earrings with Aquamarine and Pearls

Inspired by the mythical goddess Athena, a powerful woman of wisdom and independence, these dramatic, granulated 22k earrings feature repousse domes cradled within a twisted wire frame. Pearls and carved aquamarine melon beads are suspended from the domes, a modern interpretation of a popular ancient design. They hang about one inch from the earlobe. 18 karat ear wires. Step into history with these 21^st century museum style earrings. These dramatic, granulated and domed earrings feature 22k gold domes (approximately 7 mm) set within a twisted gold wire frame. Suspended from the domes are slightly rose tinted 6mm Akoya saltwater pearls and Aquamarine carved melon beads.

Granulation takes years of practice using the purest of metals. Granules are made by hand, one by one and placed on the piece with a small brush.  The piece is then heated almost to the melting point. At that precise moment, the wires fuse and become all one piece.
