Melon Ball - 22K Hollowform Bead Necklace

The ancient goldsmiths of Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece had highly developed jewelry-making skills, including *granulation*, a technique often seen in museum exhibits with ancient jewelry featuring hollow-form beads. This necklace holds an ancient inspired melon ball bead hand-forged in 22k gold. Comes on a blackened sterling silver rolo chain, 18 inches long. This ancient technique of hollow forming has recently been revived by modern day goldsmiths.  Great for layering.

Bead is 10 x 16 mm.
