Black Tahitian Pearl and 22k Granulated Earrings

These Tahitian pearl earrings are inspired by ancient designs that feature granulation. The 22k gold scalloped caps sit on top of the 12mm round pearls and hang from 18k gold ear wires. Completely handcrafted from alloy to granule, pairs may vary slightly from the photo.

Granulation takes years of practice using the purest of metals. Granules are made by hand, one by one and placed on the piece with a small brush.  The piece is then heated almost to the melting point. At that precise moment, the wires fuse and become all one piece.
