Lotus Blossom Earrings - Carved Tanzanite and 22K Granulated Beads

These one of a kind Lotus Blossom Earrings combine 22 karat gold handcrafted beads with carved tanzanite cabochons.  Hollow form beads are an ancient design. The look borrows techniques from the ancient goldsmiths of Mesopotamia, Egypt and Greece whose skills were highly developed.  Created with the ancient technique of hollow forming gold into small beads, making them lightweight and comfortable to wear. 

Tanzanites are pleochroic; meaning they can look either more blue or more purple depending on the light.  The backs are open to allow the beauty of these transparent stones to shine through.  The granulated beads are lightly textured. The combination of light through the jewels and reflecting off the bright yellow gold is simply stunning.

Stones measure 12 x 6 mm, overall length is 1.5 inches (38 mm), 18 karat gold wires.  Signed on the back.  Small silicone ear guards included.
